This gallery exhibits a number of Xiang’s notable portraits. His solid technical training coupled with his perceptive insights give Xiang’s portraits unique characteristics rarely seen in portraiture. “The most important thing is not only the likeness of the subject, but for me, there is something more. My feelings for the personality of the subject must be expressed through my brushstrokes. People have different experiences and different personalities, which is what I want to capture in my portraits.” – Xiang Zhang
